Bring Out the Tropical Wardrobe
Dressing properly for a trip is highly dependent on the weather and the activity you plan to do. When packing for a trip around climate in Costa Rica, lightweight fabric is highly recommended. Even during the wet season, it can still be quite hot. Warm clothes should also be included for cooler evenings.
Just like in some countries, to experience the change in weather, one must change altitude. If going on an adventure in the highlands where it is cool most of the year, don’t forget to pack a light jacket or long sleeves and match it with full-length pants. This is also the best attire when going to an eco-adventure like wanting to meet the climate in Costa Rica. When you are located in the Pacific Coast, which is the lower part of the country, it is always hot so summer clothes would be most appropriate.
If going on a trip during the wet season, make sure to pack a light rain jacket or a waterproof coat. This is more convenient to use more than an umbrella if you’re planning on an adventure packed trip.
Be Aware and Beware
Because most of the activities done in Costa Rica are outdoors, it is recommended that you apply mosquito repellent religiously. Mosquitoes around here can carry dengue fever or malaria. Dengue outbreaks often occur during the rainy season. This is the perfect time for mosquito breeding so be extra careful.
